Dural Bocce Club Celebrates Mothers Day and Championships

Dural Bocce Club members had plenty to celebrate this May, from a warm nod to Mothers Day early in the month to a full weekend of championship bocce at its close.

The Mother’s Day gesture came first: every female member received a gift from the club, a small tradition that set a friendly tone for the weeks ahead.

Then came the main event. On Saturday, May 23rd, sixteen men gathered for the club’s Singles Championship, working through rounds, semifinals, a final and a grand final across a long day on the courts. Tony took out the title, with Mario finishing second.

The women’s championship followed on Sunday, May 24th, with six players competing in a round robin before a countback determined the placings. Mary finished first, Josephine second.

Club officials thanked everyone who took part across the weekend, noting the skill and good spirit on display. For locals wanting to get involved, Dural Bocce Club meets every Tuesday morning and Friday evening at the Dural Club, and can be contacted at [email protected].
