Local company, Australian Pump Industries is looking to recruit marketing and engineering interns. Aussie Pumps, located on 2.1/2 acre in the Victoria Park business district, is growing so fast they need more people and they need them now!
“Being an intern is a great way of studying and gaining work experience simultaneously. We call it ‘learn as you work’,” said Aussie Pump’s Brad Farrugia. “Marketing interns, supported with our in-house training program develop into Product Management roles”, he said.
Working in conjunction with the marketing department, and experienced product managers, interns are given ownership of a particular product range. Through market research they develop an understanding of the products’ application and suitability.
They work to develop that line, making sure that it meets the needs of the consumers. Interns play a vital part in building marketing programmes, product enhancement and even media management.
“It is not for everyone,” said Farrugia. “We need energetic young interns with intelligence, determination and courage. Ethics is also a vital part of the role as everything we do here is about helping people operate in a smarter and safer way with pressure cleaners and pumps that we produce”, he said.
