Arcadian Quilters Biennial Show

“With Spring around the corner, the ladies at the Arcadian Quilters’ Group are working hard to complete their creations for their Biennial Quilt Show, which will be held at the Galston Community Hall in Arcadia Road at Galston.

The show really is an amazing exhibition, and testament to the commitment of this group of women to produce quilts, large and small, both for the pleasure of sharing their expertise, and for contributing to their community. They play an important role in the local community, making and supplying quilts to nursing homes, Riding for the Disabled and other local charities, as well as members who make quilts for Aussie Heroes, where quilts are supplied to our serving men and women in the armed forces.

The creativity of our members is inspiring. We have workshops to learn new techniques in a happy, communal atmosphere. We are happy to share our knowledge with others, and for that reason we always encourage new members. So if you have a yearning to explore the beauty of creating a quilt, a cushion, a bag or perhaps a table runner, please come along and speak to one of the ladies at the show. She will be glad to give you all the information you need, both about the exhibition and, if you are interested, about our meetings as well. There will be over 100 quilts on show, as well as trade tables, with refreshments available as well. Or just come along and enjoy the show and buy a ticket in our Raffle Quilt, a fine example of a Baltimore style bed quilt. A wonderful prize to win. Our Quilt Show is generously sponsored by Bendigo Bank.

The show will be held in the Community Hall at 37 Arcadia Road, Galston, on Saturday, 7th and Sunday 8th September 2019 from 9am until 4pm both days. Cost for adults is $5 and children are free.
We look forward to seeing you there.”
