Marli’s lovely smile says it all! Great pride and a well-deserved sense of achievement. In October Marli in Year 6 competed at the 2019 PSSA North Sydney Regional Athletics Carnival at the ANZ Stadium. Marli is an outstanding athlete, placing sixth in the 200m final and eleventh from 22 in the 1500m final. Congratulations Marli! Every student in Year 3 to 6 at our school participated in PSSA sport during Term 3 either playing netball or league tag. Another highlight was our fabulous school athletics carnival where all students, teachers and families come together to ensure everyone is supported to be their best.
Congratulations to Cooper, Noah, Reuben and Ashley who represented their school in the 2019 NSW Premier’s Spelling Bee Regional Final. A challenging experience to say the least. Noah in Year 4 achieved an excellent result – runner up in his age division. Well done!
We’re staying safe on the road and in the water. From ensuring our bike helmets are correctly fitted at the CARES bike safety course, to practising being responsible pedestrians in the Safety Town for kids’ program, our students have been actively participating and learning to make informed decisions about road and water safety. Their skills in water safety and survival will be further developed with great enthusiasm as they participate at the NSW Department of Education School Swimming and Water Safety Program at Galston Aquatic Centre this November.
Northwest Community Childcare provides high quality Out Of School Hours Care for children from kindergarten to upper primary school age. Term 4 will see their before and after school service operating at Arcadia Public School. Their philosophy of respect and warmth fits beautifully into the values we hold at Arcadia PS. Programs will offer children a balance of structured and unstructured activities to choose from and acknowledge that they have been at school all day and want to relax, interact with friends and have fun.
Come and check out our beautiful grounds on November 16 as the fabulous Arcadia Markets. Yes, you’ll find that unique Christmas gift and enjoy the Old Skool at School car show – not to be missed!
The Arcadia School 1994 Time Capsule will be available to view again during the November Markets for anyone who couldn’t attend the opening back in May. The viewing will take place from 9am-12noon in the school staff room. This will be a final opportunity to request copies of any personal memorabilia before it is resealed, and also a chance to see what the students plan to add to the capsule. If you have any relevant local or time relevant items you wish to add to the capsule please come along and discuss your suggestions at the viewing.
Students at Arcadia Public School learn through participation in a community that matters to them, where a deep sense of belonging is the ‘Arcadian Way’. Please phone our friendly office staff on 9653-1207 for 2020 enrolment information.
