Covid-19? Yes, Galston high school students? No, Rotarians? Yes.
The end of November has been for many years the time year 9 Galston High school ag science class heads to Quirindi to get a feel of different types of farming there are on the Liverpool Plains. The year 2020 was the first time since 1985 that Galston High students have not made the trip. It was also the first time that students had not visited the lucerne farm of Robert and Merriel Cox.
Three Rotary couples from Galston Rotary visited with the Quirindi Rotary club who had arranged for Robert & Merriel to be their guests for the evening. It was a great opportunity to thank the Cox’s for their contribution to Galston High School students and for the Rotary club Galston to honour them both with a Paul Harris Fellowship for their service to the district of Quirindi, Galston High School and the Rotary Club of Galston.
For a Paul Harris award the Rotary Foundation receives $1,000 US in this case from the Rotary Club of Galston
