MOSCOW, MOVIES AND MORE FOR GALSTON PARIDORO PLUS PIANO FOR GALSTON CONCERTS
THE NEXT GALSTON CONCERT on 29 September offers a European holiday and a side trip to Hollywood with world-travelled quartet Paridoro (meaning ‘equal of gold’).
This Euro-origin now Brisbane-Sydney ensemble of clarinets and strings will be joined by pianist Erzsi Marosszeky in a Paridoro plus Piano program of music from great European cities – Moscow, Leipzig, Dresden and Vienna – by Mozart, Mendelssohn and friends.
Lighter fare will include Paridoro’s signature ‘Pops’ settings – a Klezmer Karnival, a touch of tango, Beatles favourites and music from the movies like Puttin’ On the Ritz and Friend Like Me from Aladdin. The performance, in these concerts’ customary relaxed conversational style, starts at 2pm in Galston Uniting Church, to be followed by the concerts’ now famous complimentary post-concert afternoon tea.
