Hillside Public School’s much-loved annual pantomime has once again captured the heart of its community, with this year’s production, Hoodwinked 2025, earning high praise from families, staff and long-time supporters. Packed with cheeky humour, lively musical numbers and impressive performances from students across the school, the show delivered an evening of entertainment that left audiences grinning from ear to ear.
One community member, who has watched the school’s pantomimes for many years, described the 2025 production as “the best one yet”, commending the students’ confidence, comic timing and the infectious energy that carried the show from start to finish. “Their singing was fantastic, their jokes had us laughing out loud, and the joy they shared on stage made the whole night sparkle,” they said.
That sense of fun and teamwork was evident throughout the performance, as students threw themselves into the familiar tale of Robin Hood with enthusiasm that would make Sherwood Forest proud. After weeks of rehearsals and classroom excitement, the cast delivered a polished, good-humoured production that highlighted the strength of the school’s creative arts culture.
The event also drew strong support from families and local residents, who packed the audience and celebrated the students’ hard work. Hillside staff say they couldn’t be prouder of the effort and heart shown by every performer.
Preparing for Kindergarten 2026
While the applause for Hoodwinked still lingers, Hillside Public School is already looking ahead to its next big milestone: welcoming the Kindergarten class of 2026. Orientation sessions will take place on Friday 17 and 24 October, giving new students and their families a chance to explore classrooms, meet teachers and ease into the transition to school.
The school is encouraging families considering enrolment to get in touch early to join the readiness program. With small class sizes, a warm community atmosphere and before- and after-school care available, Hillside aims to offer a nurturing start for every child.
Enrolments for Kindergarten to Year 6— including out-of-area applications—are now open.
