Clare Oliver and Scott Darling, from Arcadia, both wanted to celebrate their 40th birthdays so they organised a joint 80th party.

So many locals helped with the organisation and Clare and Scott wanted to use as many local businesses as possible.

Harlim Basha and Phill Hooley helped with the set up, prep and cooked the most awesome kebabs.

Cathy Oliver (Clare’s mum cooked also). Peter and Jenny Guest lit up the property with coloured lighting.

The band came down from the Hunter Valley. Merilyn Chapel, a local artist, made the most awesome birthday cake!

Tamika and Olivia did hair and make up, Nancy’s freedom farm provided eggs and bacon for the hangovers! Elizabeth and Domenic Alesci, local flower growers, provided the most stunning arrangements.

Approximately 100 people attended. Family and friends travelled from all over Australia (QLD, NSW & ACT). After the party there were so many comments that everyone was blown away with our community in Arcadia, how they were so involved, excited and all came together with their talents and partied hard!

They also had lots of fun messages from locals saying they heard the band from their back verandahs and cracked a beer and listened…. what fun!
