Arcadian Quilting News

WOW, how good were the Olympic Games in Paris !!!

To see the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop to sport; the colourful Rings on that wonderfully familiar Olympic Flag; the PB achievements of our talented athletes … weren’t we all swept along in the magic of those 15 days!!

The Quilting group was busy this past month … “achieving” a few of our own PB projects … not quite gold in colour but bright, cheerful and welcoming.

This charming “houses quilt” (photo top) makes me want to packa- bag; go to live in some European hillside village, enjoy the sunshine and a sip or two of a local beverage?

Arcadian Quilters Showcase Bright and Cheerful Projects

Being surrounded by recent gloomy days seemed to call for light, bright and happy fabrics this month and another PB (photo top) was achieved by one of our newer members.

This is one of the group’s favourites, a scrappy quilt using the ‘Potato Chip block’ pattern. The term ‘scrappy’ simply means many different fabrics all in the one quilt.

Happily we also welcomed another new member to our group this month, it’s always great to see new faces around our table where we share ideas and get-to-know someone new … so let’s KEEP DOING THINGS TOGETHER !!

Our meetings are held on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday of each month at 9.30am. We meet at the Galston Community Centre, The Glade, Galston.
