Russell Langlands (30/09/1940- 24/02/2019)

Our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, Grandpa and friend passed away at his Arcare home. By his side were his wife, 3 sons and daughter. Russell has been unwell for 18 months and only diagnosed with PSP syndrome in April last year. His health rapidly declined in October 2018 when he was admitted to hospital.

After October he couldn’t walk or get out of bed without assistance. So we chose Arcare Aged Care at Glenhaven for his new home. By the end of Jan this year his speech and body began to worsen and then slowly he was taken up to heaven to be with his mum and dad.

The family held a lovely funeral for him at Galston Uniting Church where over 450 family, friends and business acquaintances gathered to celebrate his wonderful life. The day was picture perfect with the sun shining and the church was full of people reminiscing about Russell.

The immediate family would like to thank all extended family and friends who travelled from near and far to celebrate his life. Also to Geoff Smith minister at the church for his lovely support and service.

Russell will be dearly missed especially by his wife Vivienne, sons David, Adam, Graeme and only daughter Katrina.

His 13 grandchildren on the day released computed balloons to float to heaven in his honour.

Russell and Vivienne were the previous and first owners of Langlands Landscape Supplies on Galston Rd, Dural. They happily served the Hills district for over 40 years and now new owners his daughter Katrina and son-in-law Leon would like to thank the many people that have caked into pay their respects with cards, flowers, gifts and general support.

It is so much appreciated. RIP
