Rotary Club of Greater Hills

As part of Rotary International, The Rotary Club of Greater Hills has enjoyed a very close relationship within the local community for over 46 years, and is highly respected for its long standing contribution to areas of need and assistance, locally, nationally and internationally.

Our Rotary members believe we share responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. Rotary initiated a program to eradicate polio from the world 40 years ago. WHO joined this program and our goal of exterminating this disease is closer than ever!

Rotary Book Fair Update

Over 64000 clubs around the world contribute to the Rotary Foundation to:
• help prevent domestic violence
• promote peace
• fight disease
• provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene
• support education
• grow local economies
• protect the environment

We meet at The Galston Club on a fortnightly basis every first and third Monday evenings from 6.30 to around 8.30pm to plan and coordinate projects and programs to assist the local and wider community, and to also socialize among like-minded men and women in a friendly and camaraderie environment.

Some of the major projects that we have run are:
• The giant book fair (which has attracted buyers from all over the country)
• Opera in the park
• Country and Western festival

Some of the organisations that we have supported are:
• Riding for the disabled
• Youth insearch
• Warrah
• Exodus Foundation
• Local RFS brigades
• Local schools
• Days for girls
• Rotary youth
• Drought relief programs

The magic of Rotary is that it allows ordinary people to achieve the most extraordinary things. By using the powerful synergy of one, people unite to achieve exceptional change.

Many ordinary members of Rotary have developed projects that have brought significant change whilst experiencing personal growth in an organisation that is respected worldwide for its high values and standards.

Look out for our upcoming events:
• Colour and foam run
• Christmas markets
