Hills Relay for Life

Plans are racing ahead for the 2024 Hills Relay For Life with the official launch scheduled for February 29th at Plus, FREE Power lumbar Upgrade* worth up to $500! Event Cinemas Castle Hill.

This will be the 23rd Hills Relay For Life event held in the Hills. The 24-hour event, held every May has so far raised more than $5 million for cancer research and support programs in that time.

Hills Relay For Life 2024 will again be held at Castle Hill Showground starting at 9am on Saturday May 18th with the first lap for survivors and carers at 10am. It will be followed by a packed program of entertainment and activities on the day. The moving candlelight Hope Ceremony will be held at 6pm.

On Sunday, May 19th dog morning returns. The last lap for the 2024 Hills Relay is just before 10am on Sunday May 19th.

The event is run by a committed team of community volunteers ranging in age from students to grandparents. Hills Relay chair Lisa Carruthers said it is a wonderful community event to be part of with the committee reflecting the diversity of the people who walk, run and visit Relay.

“When the Cancer Council first approached the Hills Community to run a Hills Relay For Life event in the Hills I don’t think anyone expected it to grow as much as it has.

“Last year the Hills Relay was the biggest event in Australia and raised $359,927. The Hills Relay For Life has also won a best NSW Volunteer team award from the Centre for Volunteering in Sydney North West region for two years in a row. We have amazing volunteers.”

Lisa Carutters said the Hills Relay For Life had grown over the years from one 24-hour community event to several events run by teams and volunteers.
