I am proud to announce that a brand-new shared pathway for bike riders and pedestrians will be built on the southern side of Norwest Boulevarde from Windsor Road to Old Windsor Road.

The shared pathway completes a vital missing link within Norwest Business Park, and I know this will be welcome news for many of our cyclists and residents who have been campaigning for more of these crucial connections. The Bike North members I spoke to at the project announcement were certainly excited by the future pathway.

This new link will literally transform the way people move around Norwest Business Park. It will take cars off the road and encourage more people to hop on their bike and ride to the other side of the business park.

Cyclists will be able to ride through the heart of Norwest with greater safety and ease. It will also mean that people can more easily access the Shire’s broader cycleway network and reach other major centres, such as Rouse Hill and Castle Hill.

We have seen more and more people taking up this mode of transport, especially since the pandemic – and cyclists want better and safer connections. It’s also an inexpensive mode of transport, it’s a great form of exercise and good for our environment.

I would like to thank the NSW Government for making this project possible through their $3.1m contribution, and for their commitment to ensuring more people have more options to safely participate in active transport.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
