The GPA has been quiet over the festive season and we hope to come back in 2018 with renewed energy.
However our Planning Subcommittee has been active in the planning for the future of our area. In March we plan to have a community meeting where all residents will have a chance to view and comment on the plans devised by this sub-committee. This will be a repeated invitation to all residents to have a say in the ‘vision’ for Glenorie district.
Boral concrete upgrade proposal:
An advertisement was placed in the December Glenorie Galston Community News asking for feedback so everyone was invited to submit their concerns and spread the word to ALL who may be affected by the upgrade and take advantage of this opportunity to have input into a DA PRIOR to its submission.
Re the Notice of Intention to apply for a PSA licence for Glenorie Bakery – we need to keep abreast of when the application is made so we can send our submission directly to NSW Liquor and Gaming.
The GPA is a part of RIPA the Residents Infrastructure Planning Alliance and we have attended meetings and had conversations about
• formation of a Sydney wide alliance to fight over-development and Priority Precincts
• Hornsby Shire Council draft amendments to its Development Control Plan (DCP) to strengthen Hornsby Council’s tree preservation and to comply with the new State biodiversity conservation laws
• Opposition to the housing development on the former IBM site at West Pennant Hills.
The next meeting of the GPA Committee will be held at Glenorie RSL on the second Tuesday (13th) February, 2018. Come along and add your voice. Everyone is welcome.
