RFS Commissioner Pumped With Aussie

Australian Pump had the privilege of hosting RFS Commissioner Rob Rogers and his deputy, Bruce McDonald recently at their 2 ½ acre headquarters in Castle Hill.

The team at Aussie Pumps was able to express it’s appreciation of the magnificent work the volunteers carried out last summer under extreme conditions. Aussie’s staff were also working hard to support the community and Government departments, even deploying staff to affected areas.

“Last summer had certainly been the worst we had experienced in RFS. Unfortunately it won’t be the last as the seasons ahead could be dangerous with the urban interface”, said Rogers.

Mr Rogers and Mr McDonald were walked through the Aussie production floor where the latest run of NSW Fire & Rescue pumps were in progress. This contract is to supply units for the NSW Fire Community Trailers.

“These trailers are a vital resource used to protect a neighbourhood from flare ups and ember attacks”, said McDonald.

Once the fire front has moved through an area it can take hours to mop up, smouldering debris and homes can come under further attack from embers. The trailers provide the equipment to handle this situation. This frees up the fire trucks so they can return to fire front.

The Commissioner and Deputy were also shown the two new models likely to be of interest to the service, the big 4” twin impeller high pressure pump and a long range 6” fast fill transfer pump designed to move large volumes to replenish front line vehicles.

Aussie Pumps is a proud supporter of the RFS and looks forward to continuing to work with them as a NSW based manufacturer of quality fire pumps.
