Calling all community groups

Calling all community, sporting and performance groups, registrations are now open for Orange Blossom Festival parade entrants, local stage performers and community stallholders.

The Orange Blossom Festival is the biggest community event on The Hills Shire Council calendar showcasing the best The Hills community has to offer with a focus on promoting local services, businesses and groups.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne, said the Orange Blossom Festival is the place to be seen and heard in the local community.

“The Orange Blossom Festival is a fantastic way for participants to connect with The Hills community, not only do they get the chance to meet and share their services with Hills locals, they also have the opportunity to meet likeminded services or groups and build valuable networks,” she said.

This year’s Orange Blossom Festival will return to Castle Hill Showground on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 of September bringing with it festival favourites; kids zone, eat street, markets, entertainment and fireworks display.

Also returning in 2016 is the Orange Blossom Festival parade on Saturday 17 September. The parade adds fanfare and flare, as well as a touch of nostalgia, to the community event now in its 56th year.

“Orange Blossom Festival is such an exciting event, it’s nostalgic, it’s vibrant and it centres on the community spirit which makes The Hills such an incredible place to live. Each year the event has continued to grow and evolve and I look forward to seeing more and more community groups getting involved in this year’s event.”
