The weather conditions were far from perfect for the Minor Singles Competition Final between Marilyn Bonvino and Cheryle Hobart, with intermittent showers stopping play on several occasions, but that didn’t dampen either player’s enthusiasm or expertise. Both played superbly and accurately…the score on many ends being tied. In the final stages with the score at 21 all, it could have gone either way, but then Marilyn’s experience came to the fore, scoring a further 4 points, making it a thrilling and very close 25-21 finish. Well done both ladies! Cheryle, a new bowler, was also welcomed to the Committee at the Quarterly Meeting on October 8, along with Gwen Scott and Carol Lingham, and all were presented with their first Committee Badges by President Robyn Scoble whilst Committee Members, both present and past were thanked for all their hard work throughout the previous year.
