Glenorie Village Markets
Glenorie Village Markets at Les Shore Oval are back in action for 2026 and Glenorie Rural Fire Brigade would like to invite you to come along. It is a wonderful day out for the local community, with lots to enjoy; plus, it is a great occasion to bring your family and come have a chat with Glenorie firefighters about fire safety. The fire truck is always a winner for the children, and the perfect opportunity for them to have some fun sitting in the fire truck. Glenorie Rural Fire Brigade will be attending the markets from 9:00am until 12:30pm on the 31st May, 30th August and 29th November 2026. We look forward to seeing you there.
Clean Your Chimney
Chimneys need to be cleaned regularly to avoid a build-up of flammable soot particles, and as we move into the cooler season it is the perfect time to do this. Soot build-up in chimneys can lead to chimney fires and it also means that your fireplace will provide less heat for your home. Remember, clean, swept chimneys are safe chimneys so please make sure you get your flue or chimney cleaned by a professional.
Check Your Smoke Alarms
NSW law requires at least one working smoke alarm on every level of your home, including rentals, relocatable homes, caravans and campervans. It is also recommended installing smoke alarms in all bedrooms, hallways, living areas, stairways and even your garage. Hard wired and interconnected alarms are best, however, if not possible, use smoke alarms with in-built 10 year lithium batteries, but avoid older models that require annual battery replacement. Stay safe and check your smoke alarms today.
