Term 3 has shaped up to be another busy term for all the sections at 1st Dural Scout Group.
Joeys have been busy participating in science based activities, Cubs are working on numerous badges also around a scientific theme and the Scouts have based their term on the TV show “Body Hack”, completing many different challenges.
In July the group celebrated “Christmas in July”, with a fine feast and bonfire night. It was great to see so many of our families come together for a fantastic night.
In keeping with our core values including “helping others” and “giving back to our community”, 1st Dural Scout Group have chosen to donate the proceeds of our August Bunnings BBQ to the farmers in the Coonabarabran local district, who are in the midst of a terrible drought. In addition to the funds raised on the day of the BBQ, we passed the hat around at each section meeting and we now have a whooping combined total of $1657. We are sure this will be greatly appreciated by the farming community.
