Crews began remediation work today on Wisemans Ferry Road at Little Cattai Creek crossing.
300 metres of road has been severely impacted by the flood waters and the damage to the road over the creek presents a danger to motorists, as there are fears that it could collapse if vehicles were to drive across it.
Traffic control teams remain in place on each side of the closure, one in Halcrows Road and one at O’Briens Road, for traffic diversions.
There are two other crews located, one either side of the closure itself, near the creek.
There are also visual messaging warning signs at the Old Northern Road/Wisemans Ferry Road intersection and at Cattai Road, to advise of the closure.
Check Live Traffic NSW for alternative routes between Cattai and South Maroota.
Northbound: light vehicles only can use Halcrows Road, Cattai Ridge Road.
Southbound: Wisemans Ferry Road, Old Northern Road.
I will continue to check the progress of this work and will update you once we are nearing completion.
Let’s hope we get a share of fine weather, so that crews can finish this work as soon as possible.
