The last load of building materials required to complete the interior lining of our Men’s Shed arrived recently, taking us another step closer to finishing this exciting project.
Shedders Alan, Brian, Roger and Paul, together with volunteers Tony, Dan and John have ensured a steady rate of progress with building and other necessities. Our Sunday work crew Kiwi Rod and Greg have put in exceptional effort, lining the towering walls with the huge, heavy sheets of particleboard needed for such a building. Painting is now under way, with new member Wizz proving to be just that with a paint brush.
The kitchen is now fully equipped, the bathroom is complete with Scott finishing the plumbing and Gary finishing the tiling – we’re all looking forward to the day we can enjoy running water.
Amidst all this activity, the necessity of fundraising has not been overlooked, with Phil and Ilsa beavering away to make saleable items for upcoming local markets.
Donations of workshop tools continue to arrive from our supporters, including other well-stocked Men’s Sheds and contributors, ensuring that our Shed will be will be the best equipped in the area. Our membership is also steadily growing as completion of the Shed approaches.
Speaking on behalf of the Wisemans Ferry Shedders, Adrian, co-ordinator of the project, has expressed his gratitude for all the support and assistance given by the general community, and also wishes to acknowledge and thank Peppercorn Services Inc for their administrative support.
