What Have the Ferry Artists Been Doing you Ask?

The Ferry Artists Gallery has had a fabulous few months celebrating our current exhibition Living Colour. We had a wonderful opening with the gallery jam packed full of artists and friends and our celebrations went off so well.

Our artists showcased in the Artist Hot Seat Interviews this opening where Julia Sandford our assemblage artist and Mark Wilson AKA Red Herring our Street Pop/Street artist. Both spoke of their practice and inspirations and gave a great insight into their work.

Our AGM was held recently, and our existing members were welcomed unanimously back to their seats on our committee. Thank you to our committee who work very hard behind the scenes to keep our Community Gallery running so well.

The Ferry Artists were also delighted to take part in the recent Hills Shire Council Orange Blossom Festival Taste of Wisemans event held 29th September in Wisemans Ferry Park. The Hills generously provided us a marquee and funding to running a free art activity with the community and we had a full house of happy kids and adults painting canvas fridge magnets to take home.

This was a wonderful opportunity for our artists to work with the community and to raise awareness of our community gallery. We had a fabulous day so thank you Hills for your support. https://www.facebook.com/reel/883084186695041

And wait there’s more! The Ferry Artists also had the opportunity to talk to presenter Gabby from Channel 7 Sydney Weekender about our gallery and stand at the OBF event. You can find that link here: https://sydneyweekender.com.au/taste-of-wisemans-orangeblossom- festival/

Ferry Artists also runs an en plein air day once a month called River Sketchers. If you would like to come along and join us drawing or painting our beautiful valley views you are very welcome. Please keep an eye on our socials for the next date and please register your intent to join us.

Coming up next for us down in the valley is our Ferry Artists Presents! exhibition. Join us on Saturday 9th November 3-5pm for our opening where you will find fantastic 20cm x 20cm small works for the bargain price of $80 (Yes, it’s still $80 can you believe it?) These little artworks are a great way to start a collection or gift to an art lover or inhabit small spaces in your home filling home with colour and wonder. We will also have the gallery full of our usual unique and stunning giftware, pottery, textiles, glass, sculpture, jewellery and so much more!

The Ferry Artists welcome submissions for membership either exhibiting or social. So contact us via our website or [email protected] and tell us about yourself!
