We are very sad to report the passing of Glenorie local and long time Glenorie RSL Board member, Geoff Benfield. Geoff lived his life to the fullest. He always answered a, “how are you Geoff?” with, “I’m a ball of muscle”. He was a friendly man who made a great impact on the community of Glenorie, founding the Glenorie Hockey Club and serving on the Board of Glenorie RSL for over 25 years. He will be missed greatly and remembered forever. RIP Geoff Benfield.

We lost a very special person this weekend, a person who inspired us to achieve what we didn’t think was possible, but we did it and all of us came together and celebrated as a community. His enthusiasm will never be forgotten. He certainly put Glenorie on the map, in regards to hockey, and his commitment to the Glenorie RSL as a life member has seen the club go from strength to strength to where we are today. Rest in Peace Geoff you will always be in our hearts.
