The Lions Club of Hornsby would like to extend our deep gratitude to the Hornsby Council, 100.1FM, St John’s First Aid and the Hornsby Community, for making such a wonderful Australia Day celebration.
Lions were able to raise $1800 from the BBQ, face painting, clapper sales and donations from our generous community. This money will support children with Cerebral Palsy; and counselling services for Hornsby Connect.
Children loved the Aussie tattoos, face painting, rides and talent show. The multicultural performers were fantastic, some with voices so beautiful. The Signing choir was awesome, seeing how they use actions to enhance the words of the song.
The spirit of togetherness was evident, and the day was enjoyed by many, including our Mayor Philip Ruddock, and local MPs Matt Kean, Julian Leeser and Paul Fletcher, who willingly and heartily showed their support in the event.
Thank you to all the volunteers that made it happen. Hornsby is a great place because of you all.
