The much-anticipated redevelopment of Turnbull Oval at North Richmond Park is on the horizon, and the local community has the opportunity to engage in the planning process. This popular venue, frequently used for rugby league, cricket, and various recreational activities, is set to receive substantial improvements designed to enhance its functionality while preserving its role as a central hub for residents.

With generous support from the NSW Government providing $4.78 million through the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program, complemented by an additional $3.76 million from the local Council, the proposed upgrades promise to transform the oval into a more vibrant and accessible space.

The planned enhancements encompass several key areas. The existing amenities building will be refurbished and expanded to better serve visitors. Each of the multi-sport courts will receive upgrades to ensure they meet modern standards, and new cricket nets will be installed to support local sports enthusiasts. Families will also benefit from the construction of a new playground, providing a safe space for children to enjoy.

In addition to these exciting developments, the project will address essential infrastructure improvements, including lighting and fencing updates, as well as enhancements to stormwater management and irrigation systems. Community comfort will be prioritized with the installation of shade structures and upgraded landscaping, creating a more inviting environment. Footpaths will also be improved to ensure safe and accessible movement throughout the area.

The concept design for the redevelopment has been carefully crafted to align with funding agreements and has undergone adjustments to keep pace with rising construction costs, maintaining its feasibility within the approved budget.

As part of this community-centered initiative, the Council welcomes input from residents. The goal is to gather feedback and suggestions that could further enrich the project, ensuring that it meets the needs and desires of the community while remaining practical.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the feedback process, which will remain open until Sunday, 26 October 2025. The concept plans can be viewed online at Your Hawkesbury, Your Say, and are also available for public viewing at the Council Administration building located at 366 George Street, Windsor, on weekdays from 9 am to 4 pm until Friday, 24 October 2025. Community engagement is key in shaping the future of Turnbull Oval, and every voice matters in this exciting transformation.
