TOBRUK SHEEP STATION CELEBRATING 30 YEARS

REMEMBER THE TRUE-BLUE AUSTRALIAN FARM experience you had when you were a kid? Sitting around the campfire, swinging the billy tea and making damper?

You can relive those days at Tobruk Sheep Station. Less than 15 minutes from Glenorie, Tobruk has been transporting locals and tourists alike to a time when bushlife was the norm. Set against a dazzling Blue Mountains back drop, the resplendent fifty-two acre farm has long been a popular location for film and television – with the likes of Masterchef and The Biggest Loser in it’s saddle bag.

From whip-cracking to sheep shearing, Jackeroo, manager and all-round showman Nick Greene uses a humourous mix of knowledge and audience participation to deliver an engaging and fun Outback program, with content and length suitable for all ages. The operational station employs several Stockmen and Jillaroos to run the shows 7 days a week, each providing their audience with hands-on farm life demonstrations. From boomerang throwing to sheep mustering, in-depth sheep and wool handling displays … and don’t forget crowd favourites, the working dogs, there’s plenty to keep the family entertained. Farm chefs Maria and Mick fill the bellies of hungry hordes with a delicious variety of salads and BBQ meats topped off perfectly with an Aussie icon – the Lammington.

Named for it’s historic connection to the ‘Rats of Tobruk’, the station caters for numerous functions – corporate and private events, group bookings, educational programs, bush dances and mobile shows … you can even stay the night or several in one of the country-themed cabins, listening to the music of the Australian bush.

And if you liked it, put a ring on it! A conversation with Tobruk’s Wedding Co-ordinator Robyn Mansfield is a must for your future school formal, engagement or wedding plans. Thanks to years of experience, the spectacular location and unique event offering, Tobruk stars as Western Sydney Wedding’s #1 Winner in the Brides Choice Awards.

Drop by soon … the Australian outback is waiting to put on a show for you.
