Well, we are have all been doing different things to keep ourselves amused over the last couple of months. I have a daughter who lives in the beautiful city of Wodonga, Victoria. So of course, she has been in lockdown. To keep herself amused and to help maintain mental wellbeing, she decided to join an online choir.
Every month she sends in a recording of different tracks of harmony and singing. Not long ago this would have only been possible on a multitrack console in a recording studio. To produce what she needs, albeit maybe not as good a quality as a studio, she uses an Apple App call GarageBand.
This App is a digital audio workshop and turns your iPad and iPhone into a collection of Touch instruments and a full featured recording studio.
Many younger individuals who have musical talent would be aware of GarageBand but those of us who are older, and have adequate or limited recording ability, may not. It doesn’t take much googling to find tutorials on how to use GarageBand. The experience of learning this new app along with the recording, has brought back fond memories of choir singing and lots of positive moments for my daughter. It is definitely worth while giving it a go, even if you can’t sing!
There are over 2 million Apps available. These are just a few that I have found throughout the years of helping people with their Apple devices and computers.
