THERE’S AN APP FOR THAT… FUNBRIDGE

Much more complicated than I thought it would be but also lots of fun. Being a golfer, it seemed the next natural progression. For the last seven weeks, I have been very diligent in going to my lessons. I am sure there are readers of this article who are bridge players who would have made their way to Turrumurra Bowling club for lessons.

Being a person who loves technology, it was only natural for me to locate an App that would help me learn how to play this quite complicated game. (remember I am new at this). The App I have found and have been using is one called Funbridge. It allows you to “Play bridge wherever and whenever you like!” It is available on both iPhone and Android and also on computers.

For those of you who already play Bridge this App helps you sharpen your skills at both declarer’s play and defence before jumping in to play duplicate bridge against live opponents.

I have found the instructions offered very useful. I have also had lots of fun challenging friends. I regularly play against “Argine” who is the Funbridge computer. I can safely say I am usually beaten. At the righting of this article, Funbridge had 171,918 regular players and had over one million deals played the day before. This just proves how many people are keen Bridge players.

If you start playing regularly, you will be required to take out a subscription which if you love the game I don’t think you will find onerous.

A lot of bridge clubs are closing for a month while we deal with Covid – 19. This could be the time to look at Funbridge!

There are over 2 million Apps available. These are just a few that I have found throughout the years of helping people with their Apple devices and computers.
