The New Mayor Of The Hills Shire Council

Dr Peter Gangemi is the New Mayor Of The Hills Shire Council

It is an incredible honour to have been elected as the New Mayor of The Hills Shire Council. Throughout this campaign, I have been completely overwhelmed by the good wishes and the level of support for myself and the entire Liberal team.

The Hills is the greatest part of the world and myself and the Liberal team are so thankful to have this opportunity to serve you in the upcoming term of Council. The community have elected the Liberal team to at least 9 out of the 13 spots on the Council and we are very grateful for that. The Hills community have put a high level of trust in the Liberal team and we will not let them down.

In this campaign, we listened to you about your vision for The Hills community and we stand ready to fight for your cause.

The Hills Liberal team stands for strong financial management, engaging the community, maintaining the character of The Hills, pushing back against overdevelopment, fast-tracking road and intersection upgrades, rolling out parks and sportsfields, upgrading playgrounds and community facilities, supporting our rural areas and helping local businesses.

I want to thank our incredible team of candidates and Councillors – Virginia Ellis, Mitch Blue, Rory O’Connor, Jessica Brazier, Mark Hodges, Jag Dhaliwal, Jerome Cox, Reena Jethi, Raylee Hodges, Rosemarie Boneham, Frank De Masi and Terrisa Murray.

I wanted to thank our campaign team, my campaign manager Michael Abrahams and our incredible major contributors – Rajiv Chaudhri, Callum Hoogesteger, Naresh Mehrok, Joe Laviano and Samantha Ellis. I also wanted to thank our massive team of volunteers who helped us letterbox, run stalls, stand at polling booths and assist us in our campaign in some way. You are all champions and gave the cause your all.

Most of all I wanted to thank my wife Nicole who is my best friend and greatest supporter and takes a very large burden to allow me to serve the community to the best of my ability.

Finally another heartfelt thank you to you. As always, if there is any way that I can assist you, my door is always open.
