A great day was had in Dural at The Centre Open Day on the 20th March. The rain poured down, but spirits stayed high inside. What a good day to be indoors!
The upgraded courts were officially opened with the ribbon cutting attended by the Mayor of Hills Shire Council Dr Michelle Byrne, Local Member for Castle Hill Hon. Ray Williams and Branch Manager of Galston Bendigo Community Bank Savio Pereira. Michelle said that it was “great to see Dural alive and well, that we have such a wonderful community”. Ray expressed his appreciation for what The Centre has done for the community, “the void you have filled for families, the kids you have supported and the health of the citizens now through the Health Shed.”
The Centre is so much more than a sports centre and it was an honour to be able to showcase not just the great sports that are on offer but also the Church, Chicago youth, Playtime for young kids and the Dural Men’s Shed & Health Shed.
Table tennis was the big hit of the day. The new tables were buzzing with people testing them out and playing off with champ Paul Pinkewich.
Inflatables were also welcomed back with open arms after having to take a break last year. The full inflatables will be back in the April school holidays.
The kids all had a great time testing out the new courts and building their soccer and netball skills. The littlies had lots of fun playing with the Action Kidz set up, climbing in and over tunnels, scoring goals and having a great time.
The summer competitions wrapped up in March, lots of teams are signed up and ready to play through the winter, but there is plenty of space for more! To register or for information visit the website thecentredural.org.au or contact [email protected] 8989 0030.
