They’re Creepy and They’re Kooky, Mysterious and Spooky… The Addams Family at Galston High School

The Addams Family is traveling from their home in Cemetery Ridge, Westfield, New Jersey, to visit Galston High School this July. Wednesday continues the family legacy at Nevermore Academy, while Pugsley attends a “Normie” school. They will be participating in our biennial school musical from July 25th to 27th, 2024, presented by our talented students.

This musical comedy celebrates the eccentricity of every family, focusing on the Addams Family’s misadventures. The story revolves around Wednesday Addams, the ‘Princess of Darkness,’ who has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a sweet, intelligent young man from a respectable family. Her parents, Gomez and Morticia Addams, have never met him.

Wednesday confides in her father, Gomez, and begs him to keep her relationship a secret from her mother. This forces Gomez to do something unprecedented: hide a secret from Morticia. The entire family’s dynamics are tested on the night they host a dinner for Lucas and his parents and Wednesday requests that the family behave like “normal” people do. To find out just how “normal” the Addams Family can be you’ll need to come along and find out for yourselves.

The cast includes:

  • Wednesday Addams (Hayley Mathie): Balances her dark family and her new love. She’s compassionate, stubborn, and strong-willed.
  • Gomez Addams (Cooper Alexis): A charming man who loves his wife and children but is caught between them due to Wednesday’s secret.
  • Morticia Addams (Soraya La Plume-Barker): The elegant and mysterious matriarch who is suspicious of Gomez’s secrecy.
  • Pugsley Addams (Scarlett Votano): The youngest sibling who enjoys being tortured by Wednesday but feels lost with her new relationship.
  • Uncle Fester Addams (Nina Wesson): The enthusiastic, childlike narrator of the show.
  • Grandmama Addams (Paige Dalton): A quirky, feisty character with hidden wisdom.
  • Lurch (Ebony Taylor and Ella Walker): The butler with a commanding presence and few words.
  • Lucas Beineke (Will Lindley): Wednesday’s optimistic boyfriend trying to bridge his normal family with the Addams family.
  • Mal Beineke (Eli Small): Lucas’s sceptical and uptight father.
  • Alice Beineke (Jasmine Barrett): Lucas’s reserved mother who unleashes her wild side at dinner.

With a mix of spider webs and dancing ghosts, this musical is more kooky than spooky and suitable for all ages. The show will leave you thinking that, perhaps, you do have a normal family after all. Tickets are on sale now –tickets are selling fast!
