World Down Syndrome Day is on 21st March every year! The Mt Wilga NDIS Therapy and Accommodation Team wore crazy socks to raise awareness of this global day and to raise funds for Down Syndrome NSW.
The goal of the day is to help people understand and support those with Down syndrome better. The date, being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was chosen to represent the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.
In 2025, the Theme of World Down Syndrome Day is Improve Our Support Systems. People with Down syndrome need support to live and be included in the community, like everyone else.
At Mt Wilga the NDIS Team provides Therapy Supports to people with Down syndrome including Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Psychology and Exercise Physiology – and they just love attending! The Mt Wilga NDIS Team also offers Short Term and Medium Term Accommodation.
