If you haven’t visited Steam Yard in Galston for a while, be sure to drop on in and visit us! We are Michael and Christina Gobran from the Hills District and we have recently taken over. It’s been almost 3 months since we’ve been at Steam Yard and boy have we been overwhelmed by the support, encouragement and heart felt congratulations we have received from the community.
As a young family of 4 (Alexander – 6 and Sophia almost 4) we have always enjoyed and had a huge passion for great food, entertaining and simply enjoying life! As a family, we enjoy spending time with our extended family and simply taking in everything life has to offer.
We have a background in hospitality and have always had a plan to either open our own café or buy an existing one. Our family is extremely community driven and always looking out for ways to support the local community.
We have a grand vision for the café and cannot wait to slowly transform it into a place where locals can come in relax, have 1,2,3 or 4 coffees along with a fresh new meal or sweet. We are always looking into new ways of refreshing the café with new sweets, drinks and food!
Aimee, the original chef has stayed on with us, which we are extremely grateful of! We have also hired a bunch of young, lovely staff members from the Hills District to help us achieve our dream for Steam Yard!
