It’s been a great start to the year at The Centre in Dural.
The courts have been bustling with sports and activities for all ages, and even a wedding! Known for sports and church, The Centre is also becoming a hub for more senior residents in the area. The café has been popular, particularly the monthly themed travel lunches.
Last month was a virtual trip to Greece, with a video screening followed by delicious Greek lunch. We’re off to Italy in March! New on offer, Movement Classes for over 55’s on Mondays at 10.30am. The classes help develop posture, flexibility, muscle control and endurance in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
The community has also been looking at how they can help others. Members of the Men’s Shed have been helping flood-impacted Lismore, sending several new kitchens and hot water tanks. On Mondays, “Hands & Feet” is set up to provide free food for those in need. Come on over if you need or know anybody that needs food assistance.
Inflatable World is on every day these school holidays (except Easter weekend). Pre-booked Soccer and Netball Clinics are also available for kids. There is a new music project starting up next term, with group guitar lessons on a Tuesday afternoon.
Easter, where we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, is an important time in the life of the Faith Community at The Centre. All are welcome at the 9am Good Friday and 10 am Easter Sunday Services.
