Samantha Riley Drive Reserve Update

In a recent press release, Hills Mayor Peter Gangemi, gave an update of Samantha Riley Drive Reserve.
The project is well underway. The bulk earthworks phase, stormwater drainage and construction of the rainwater harvesting irrigation tanks are nearing completion. Other current activities include pouring of the amenities building concrete slab, carpark and access road construction, electrical servicing work, construction of lighting tower foundations, and installation of the cricket practice nets and 9m ball-stop fencing at the northern end of the sports fields.
It is estimated the complex will be completed by the end of 2023, and include:
  • Four multi-purpose rectangular natural turf sports fields that can be reconfigured into two ovals
  • Basketball half court
  • Two cricket nets
  • Accessible toilets, change rooms, kiosk and referee room
  • 200-space carpark
  • Playground with picnic facilities
  • Shared pathways and
  • Sports field LED lighting, field drainage and irrigation system.
A new roundabout entry to the reserve will be built at the intersection of Goodison Street and Stamford Bridge Avenue.
