Salvation Army

This month we are saying goodbye to a much valued member of the Volunteer team in the Dural store.

When Norma retired from the workforce in her late 60’s and experienced that “ empty nest” feeling, she decided to put something back into the community, and thus began a weekly contribution of time with the Salvos.

“I have enjoyed every minute of my time there,” Norma said. “ I have loved meeting like- minded people, enjoyed many smiles and laughs over a morning cuppa, and have always gone home feeling rewarded and appreciated for my efforts.”

“One of the many advantages of being a volunteer after retiring from paid employment is being able to work at your own pace and become involved in areas of your choice,” she added.

The Salvos is a happy positive environment where lifelong friendships can be made with like minded people. At our Dural and Glenorie stores we sort, price and shelve a huge variety of items, everything from cotton reels to refrigerators!! We rely on people donating not only goods, but also their time and energy to enable us to support needy members in our community.

Management, staff and fellow volunteers wish Norma God’s blessings and every success in the new chapter of her life.

Our big sales day this month will be Thursday 29 March with everything in both stores marked down to half price!!
