SALVATION ARMY

Behind the public facade of its many Salvos Family stores there exists a network of services that reaches out into many corners of our community. Recognising that people’s needs often extend far beyond that of the financial arena, trained counsellors are available to help and advise you on spiritual, emotional and lifestyle issues, as well as on how to budget to make those dollars stretch further.

If you would like to speak in confidence to someone in our area, please phone the Dural store on 9651 4504 and ask to speak to the Manager, Juanita. She is a trained and compassionate counsellor and will know how to advise you.

Were you aware that the Salvos run regular WILLS DAYS throughout Sydney? A dedicated team of highly trained legal advisors donate their time to support this initiative. A lawyer will advise and guide you through the drawing up of a simple will for about 25% of the regular cost. For further information and to make an appointment please phone 1800 337 082 or visit the Salvation Army website.

The store focus this month is on the electrical section. Every item placed for sale in our Dural and Glenorie premises has been double- checked for reliability and safety. Craig does the initial test and this is followed up by our qualified volunteer, Rob. Rob holds a certificate in Test and Tag, a course run and approved for Australian Standards by highly trained electricians and lecturers. All items on display are fully checked, cleaned and tagged ready for sale. The range varies from day to day, and may include mix masters, blenders, popcorn makers, jaffle irons, coffee grinders, radios, CD players, lamps, and hi fi equipment. Please note that, by law, we are unable to rehome electric blankets and plastic heaters, so please dispose of these in your own waste collection.

We are welcoming Spring with our popular HALF PRICE STOREWIDE DAY on Saturday 29 Sept. We look forward to seeing you and, as always, you are assured of a warm welcome.
