Sallianne McClelland is one phenomenal woman. Her passion, hard work and determination to ensure the success of the Hornsby Women’s Shelter makes her an obvious choice for 2018 Hornsby Woman of the Year.
More than 200 women have been given a place to stay and hope for a new life thanks to the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter. Recently celebrating their third birthday it’s a great success story for our community.
As president of the Board there is not an aspect of the shelter Sallianne is not involved in. From promotion, to fundraising, to assisting in setting up a transitional home – Sallianne is always there. Her time, effort and commitment to the shelter is nothing short of amazing.
Sallianne was the brains behind The Apron Project which has seen $40,000 raised for the shelter. It started with her asking some artists to paint aprons for her to auction off. It has continued to grow and last year they had 100 aprons, with artists including Ken Done. They are expecting it to be even bigger in 2018, which doesn’t surprise me when Sallianne is involved.
Congratulations Sallianne, we thank you for everything you do for our community.
