Oliver Musical Review

Tickets sold out for a local show is a great indication that the organisers are doing something right.

For those of us lucky enough to secure tickets, we weren’t disappointed. It was my first time at a show by the Dural Musical Society. I had been to theatrical shows in other country towns, so I wasn’t expecting too much.

It was a simple stage set up, but boy did the actors just surpass everything I expected. The children (so many were local families whom I recognised), were just fantastic. They looked like they were having a ball. They sang their hearts out – and in tune! The adult actors, again many locals, had just amazing voices and everything seemed to run perfectly. They had clearly perfected their art through hours of rehearsals.

It did make me think why I travel all the way to Sydney to see a show, when there is such talent locally. I am not surprised the show was a sell out.

Their next show is the Addams Family in October 2017. Auditions 19th and 21st June. For more details, go to http://www.duralmusicalsociety.org/2017-october-addamsfamily/
