Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Old Northern Road from tonight for geotechnical investigation work to be carried out around two kilometres south of Duckponds Ridge Trail at Forest Glen.
Temporary lane closures will be in place for the geotechnical investigation work which includes surveying and drilling to establish ground conditions and locating underground utilities to improve the road for motorists.
To minimise impacts to motorists, night work will be carried out between Friday 24 February and Friday 24 March from 9pm to 5am, weather permitting. Work is expected to take around three shifts to complete and will be carried out between Sunday and Friday. Traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Work is also continuing on road sealing at Maroota and road resurfacing at Glenorie between Monday and Friday from 7am to 6pm and 8am to 1pm on Saturday.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control. Roads and Maritime Services thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
