News from – Galston Early Learning Centre

Galston Early Learning has had an exciting past few weeks as we have had the opportunity to redesign part of our outdoor learning space. Last October the centre received a generous grant from ‘Galston Bendigo Bank’ to contribute to this project and we were then able to start planning.

Over the past several days we have welcomed Leon Milne and his landscaping team from ‘Create Your Escape’, as they worked on transforming our backyard into a new open-ended learning space for the children here at Galston Early Learning Centre. Throughout the preparation process we were very focused on re-using the natural materials from our old space to then re-use in the new space. Some of the bush rocks that were found within our existing garden have now been used to create a beautiful rustic table as well as a retaining wall and stairs that outline our garden bed. We have also added a board walk that connects our new area with our sand pit.

On the day of completion, our children were invited out to have a look at their brand new learning space. There was a lot excitement from our children, educators and families as they welcomed the change.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank ‘Galston Bendigo Bank’ for supporting us and contributing to the funding of this project. Finally but not least we would like to thank Leon Milne and his Landscaping team from ‘Create Your Escape’ as well as ‘Langlands Landscaping Supplies’ for all of their hard work in assisting us in redesigning our outdoor environment.

If you would like to come and have a look at the centre or ask any questions regarding our Educational Program, please feel free to contact the Centre Director Daniela Balmer on 9653 1475.
