Why Netball? While we all know that playing sport is good for you, the long-term benefits of playing in a team sport like netball is even more significant. Long-term participation teaches people how to deal with adversity through losses or injuries, problem-solve, push and improve skills, learn resilience and sportsmanship, as well as developing friendships.
“Netball is one of the top sports in NSW when it comes to participation and is the market leader for women and young girls”, Netball NSW CEO, Carolyn Campbell.
So, what are you waiting for? Join Galston Netball Club for the 2019 Winter Competition!
And if you have any doubts just ask our NetSetGO players who finished their participation in our off-season clinics!
Whilst the winter competition does not start until May, registrations are now open online which leads into grading day, team formation and then pre-season training. This year we will be having an official launch of our 2019 season with a Netball Expo Day on Sunday 10th February at Galston Recreation Reserve from 8.30am to 10.30am.
Our Netball Expo Day promises to be a fun event for all the family with free jumping castle, games, sno-cones and BBQ. We are excited to have Paige Hadley and Maddy Turner from the NSW Swifts with us for the morning. They will be available for photos and autographs with our next generation of budding Swifts players! And importantly of course you will also be able to register on the day.
The photos show Sam Poolman from the NSW Giants who came to our final junior clinic in 2018 to spend time with the players and to present them with their completion certificates.
Galston Netball Club fields teams aged 6 years to adult in the Hills District Netball Association winter competition. For further information about winter registrations or if you are interested in joining our skills sessions in 2019, please contact [email protected]
