For the 2017 Winter Football season, Hills Hawks FC are delighted to announce that they will be running a Men’s Over 35 Social Football Competition at Hayes Oval. Please pass this information on to any husbands, fathers, brothers, friends and family etc you know, who may be interested in taking part this year.
Hills Hawks are excited to be able to offer local men, the opportunity to play regular football in a social community setting. The aim of the competition is to engage as many local men as possible, some who may not have played recently, or ever, (for a variety of reasons) in our football community. The emphasis of the competition is on participation and enjoyment for all involved.
Over the last nine years the Hills Hawks Women’s Competition has engaged mothers, sisters and friends of our male players in a highly successful social competition that continues to grow and prosper. We hope the Hills Hawks Men’s Over 35 Social Football Competition will do the same for our local men.
The matches will take place on Hayes 4 on Saturday afternoons, and will run throughout the 2017 Winter GHFA season. It will be a 6-a-side format with matches being 20 minutes each way in duration. Ideally, we would like to run an 8 team competition with matches beginning around 1:30pm. We would envisage that 9-10 players is a good size for a squad for the season.The registration fee for Over 35s is $195.00 before applying any discounts for family, earlybird etc. Please note that players registering in 11-a-side teams for 2017 are not eligible to play in this competition.
We would also welcome interest from anyone interested in refereeing all or some of the matches each weekend.
