By Dr Peter Gangemi – Mayor of The Hills Shire Council

A milestone at Waves Fitness and Aquatic centre has been reached – the indoor 25-metre warm water pool is being filled. Making Waves

The pool must be filled gradually so the structure can flex slowly with the weight of tonnes of water being added. As well, the roofing over the warm water pool and indoor lagoon has been completed.

Flooring is being installed in the fitness centre and approximately $1 million of state of the art gym equipment will be delivered soon. Outdoor work is continuing on the covered spectator areas, amenities and walkways.

Recruitment of around 40 staff is underway, including lifeguards, swim instructors, squads, coaches, customer service staff, fitness instructors and more.

It’s incredibly rewarding to watch Waves transform into such an impressive facility that will cater to current and future generations of Hills residents.
