Garden enthusiasts will have the chance to admire and purchase stunning bromeliad plants at the upcoming Bromeliad Society of Australia (BSA) meeting, set to take place at the Federation Pavilion, Castle Hill Showground, on Saturday, 8 November. Public sales open at 10 am, with the formal meeting commencing at 12 noon.
Spring is the perfect season to add exquisite bromeliads to home gardens or to find a unique gift for Christmas. Attendees can also expect a special demonstration from Bob Sharpley, a BSA committee member renowned for his creative approach to horticulture. Bob will showcase how to produce engaging videos of bromeliad plants using user-friendly software, guiding members step by step on creating their own visual presentations to share with fellow enthusiasts.
Regular meeting activities include competitions, a raffle, and the popular “Show & Tell.” A newer segment, simply called “Show,” allows members to display plants without the pressure of formal judging, fostering a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.
The BSA gathering offers more than just plants—it’s an opportunity for like-minded gardeners to connect, exchange tips, and celebrate their shared passion in a friendly environment.
