Making Art From Trash Will Win You Cash

Hornsby Shire Council’s much-loved Re-magine competition is on again, with $10,000 in prize money on offer to people who turn everyday items into works of art.

“The purpose of Re-magine is to prove that there is far more to recycling than putting your rubbish in the correct bin,” Hornsby Shire Mayor Philip Ruddock said.

“Every year it’s fascinating to see beautiful works of art created from items that were otherwise destined for landfill.”

Artists have until Monday 9 April to submit their entry, which must be made from recovered waste products and materials.

Categories include:
• 3D Sculpture Art
• Mixed Media Art
• Wearable/Functional Art
• Young Creatives (people up to 24 years old)
• Junior Creatives (people up to 12 years old)

Re-magine is possible thanks to the support of Cleanaway and Hornsby Art Society.
