After 17 years of stewardship, Arcadian resident, Ian Browning, is passing on the role of Curator to Julie Graham of Berrilee.
Ian has recently been appointed as a community representative to Hornsby Council’s Heritage Advisory Committee and will still remain a Volunteer with the Friends of Fagan Park.
Julie has been a member of the FOFP for the past two years, and during this short time she has worked tirelessly to promote Netherby Homestead and the associated precinct. She was instrumental in turning a tired looking room in the Hudson Building back to a re-creation of Bruce Fagan’s office and has gone to great
lengths to ensure the rooms in the house are as authentically finished and styled as possible for the period. She has updated signage and information sheets and put together a comprehensive guidebook on the property for all volunteers – and these are just a small portion of the improvements she has made on behalf of the committee.
A former Primary School Teacher for over 30 years, Julie was also the President of the Hills Historical Society for a decade and has a wealth of experience under her belt. She is the main guide of the homestead and enjoys sharing her knowledge with visitors to the property.
Vern Sotter will remain as Assistant Curator with Allan Chadwick newly appointed to the position of Honorary Assistant Curator.
The Friends of Fagan Park remain committed to preserving and promoting Netherby Homestead and Precinct and look forward to a bigger and better year in 2026 with some exciting new events on the radar!
