In 1925 Nevill Westwood and Greg Davies undertook an incredible journey in their trusty 1923 Citroen 5CV, the very first car to travel all around Australia; an amazing vehicle known for its exceptional features and reliability.
After naming the little car Bubsie, Westwood and Davies left Perth on 4th August 1925 to visit the towns and outback regions; including stock routes and river crossings to some of the most remote and hottest parts of Australia.
This year is the 100th Anniversary of their amazing journey. This is why ‘The Incredible Journey’ team from NSW are retracing the steps of those pioneering men who travelled almost 18,000Kms in 148 days, covering some of the roughest ground imaginable.
And while the original Bubsie, driven by Westwood and Davies, can be seen in the National Museum in Canberra, on Tuesday 11th March, a beautifully restored replica of Nevill’s Citroën will be on display at ‘The Persimmon Place’ (Waddell’s Orchard) 375 Galston Road, Galston from 10am – 12pm; and then at Galston Adventist Church from 2pm – 5pm.
Please join us for this memorable event and discover what inspired Westwood and Davies to make such a dangerous, incredible journey. And make sure you get your free copy of the ‘Overlander’ detailing Nevill Westwood and Greg Davies amazing adventure. This event is promoted by ‘The Incredible Journey’ and Galston Adventist Church.
