Hills Shire Councillors Elect New Deputy Mayor

Councillor Frank De Masi was elected Deputy Mayor of The Hills Shire by his fellow Councillors during the October 8 Ordinary Meeting of Council.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne, congratulated Councillor De Masi on his new position, saying it was well deserved after serving two previous terms on Council.

“Clr De Masi has earned the role of Deputy Mayor through his extraordinary passion and work for The Hills Shire,” Mayor Byrne said.

“Frank is a proud Hills resident who has served as a Clr since 2017. His knowledge of and enthusiasm for The Hills will be an incredible asset in our advocacy efforts for our residents.”

Clr De Masi expressed his gratitude for being elected as Deputy Mayor.

“I’m deeply honoured to be elected as Deputy Mayor of The Hills Shire, and I’m looking forward to working alongside Mayor Byrne and my Councillor colleagues for the betterment of our region,” Clr De Masi said.

“We have a lot we would like to achieve in this term of Council, and I would like to particularly focus on how we can reduce the cost and scale of waste in The Hills Shire and how we can advocate for the NSW Government to help.”

Clr De Masi is a small business owner with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Human Resource Management and an advanced certificate in Management. Councillor De Masi is also a Graduate of The Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He will be in the position of Deputy Mayor until 9 September 2025.
