A first of its kind music festival for the Hills district is being organised by a local Castle Hill choir, Ad Musicam. The inaugural Hills Are Alive Choir Festival will be held on Sunday afternoon 30 th October 2016, at Pacific Hills Christian School, Quarry Road, Dural, starting at 3.00 pm. The festival will be a fun afternoon, celebrating the joy of music, whilst also being a fundraiser for children living with cancer – all funds will go directly to Camp Quality.
The event will comprise six local choirs, each performing in turn a number of songs celebrating choral music of differing styles. There will be a diversity of choir styles, with something to suit every taste, ranging from barbershop style to rock and soul, and primary to high school choirs. At the end of the individual performances all the choirs will join together for the finale.
Along with hosts, Ad Musicam, participating choirs include the Rock and Soul Choir, Spirit of Sydney Chorus, Hills Harmony Chorus, Kellyville Ridge Primary School and Mount St Benedict College.
